The Clay Centre is an amazing place run by actual potters, and you can really feel that passion in there.
I took their two-hour wheel-throwing taster, and it was an ideal way to get comfortable with the basics. The instructor was incredibly patient and had a great sense of humour, which helped ease my nerves about being a total beginner.
I was genuinely surprised and proud of the little bowl I managed to create in just one session!
They have this cool “pottery gym” concept for members, giving you the freedom to practice whenever you feel inspired, with access from 9 am to 10 pm daily.
The studio itself is very well-equipped and spacious, with top-notch wheels that are a joy to work on.
This creates a fantastic community vibe where first-timers can learn the craft and seasoned artists can refine their skills.

My child attended the hand sculpting class. Cat the teacher was amazing, the classes are a creative little hub of bubbling activity and the kids love it. There is a comfy lounge for the parents and all you hear is cheeky giggles and fun. Really well run, and the owners are lovely, great place.
