Revamp your space with Auckland’s best interior design firms
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Did you know a simple shift in your room’s wall colour can transform its ambience? Interior designers understand the psychology of colours and moods, offering more than just new wallpaper when you trust them to revamp your home.

The best interior designers in Auckland can transform your home or office into a space that actually feels great to live or work in. If you’re out of ideas on how to revamp your space, leave it to the firms below to create the perfect vibe!

How much does hiring an interior designer in Auckland cost?

Interior designers in Auckland consider the scope of work, the size of the space, and other design wants and needs that require further spending.

On average, a renovation will set you back $2,000 to $5,000 per room.

Designers may charge consultation fees one time or per hour, depending on how many appointments you set for the design planning process.

How We Chose

Industry Experience: We selected companies with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, catering to clients across Auckland and abroad. We also included designers who are members or are accredited by bodies like the Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ) and the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association (NKBA).
Design Solutions: We selected studios that offer a wide range of design solutions like spatial planning, office layout planning, flooring, furniture sourcing, painting, and lighting installations. We also included firms that offer home staging for real estate purposes or for increasing property value.
Turnaround Time: We selected studios that have relatively short turnaround times, within a month to 6 months for small projects and up to 16 months for large-scale renovation works.
Portfolio and Clientele: We selected studios that have a diverse clientele and portfolio, ranging from apartments to large commercial spaces. We also considered studios that have designed restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels, yachts, and micro apartments.

Quick to respond

“Gary, Kate and the team from Sojo Design did a wonderful job staging the ‘micro’ apartment we purchased, so we got them to source and supply all of the furniture used in the staging.

They were quick to respond, quote, offer alternatives and order the items needed. Plus, they delivered and set everything up, even laundered the sheets and made the bed! It was the easiest move in, thanks to Sojo Design. We highly recommend them and will use their services again.”

Brilliant home staging skills

“Toni and I couldn’t be happier with the brilliant staging Sojo, Kate and the team did for our property at 39 Garnet Rd.

Quite aside from the finished look which has garnered highly complimentary feedback from a range of different people, it was delightfully easy contacting and dealing with Kate throughout. From calls, to emails to texts, all were quickly answered and positive results were achieved in the blink of an eye.”

Great at optimising spaces

“Doing a full tear down and remodel of our Auckland CBD apartment during covid and a supply chain crisis was no easy task, and we definitely could not have done it without Mal. Mal is an incredible interior designer. He is really good at optimising spaces, has an amazing eye for colours, and knows how to be bold yet elegantly bring it all together. He is passionate and excellent at what he does. It’s an absolute pleasure working on a project with someone with so much talent. He has a lot of experience and is able to pick the right people to do the job. He also has an excellent reputation in the community, where contractors and suppliers typically go above and beyond because it’s a “Mal Corboy job”. We are thrilled with how our apartment turned out and can’t thank him enough.”

Attentive and responsive designer

“When my husband and I wanted to build our ‘forever home’ we spent a lot of time researching the right professionals to help us achieve our dream in Milford. Mal Corboy was recommended to us by one of my clients and once I saw some of his work I recognised immediately that we wanted him to design and oversee our kitchen and scullery. As my husband cooks it was important that Peter was involved and got everything on his wish list. Mal created a beautiful, sumptuous and timeless design that complimented our new Cape Cod home with attention to details perfect for our large family and our entertaining needs. We love our kitchen and enjoy the scale and style as we spend a lot of time in the ‘hub’ of our new home. Mal was attentive and responsive to our questions and the result is a stunning kitchen we just adore. Thanks Mal.”

Elegant bespoke designs

“I’ve been working solidly with this amazing team for the last 18 months. They provided us with an outstanding, elegant and bespoke interior design look for our 3 level historically listed home.
