Since then, I’ve done my best to avoid making the same mistake—especially when my face is involved.
With the help from the rest of the Auckland Magazine team, I visited several aesthetic clinics in Auckland and talked to former patients. We scrutinised everything from customer service to the cleanliness of the facilities to make sure I will never go to another subpar aesthetic clinic again.
And since I’m not one to gatekeep, here are the aesthetic clinics in Auckland that made our cut.

If you like monthly skin care membership treatments, Shine Aesthetics is where you go. Each monthly session is customised according to your skin needs, whether you need a normal facial or hydro dermabrasion.
For those fighting pigmentation and redness, many swear by the Shine Clean and Clear Club. This 6-month membership does wonders for fading those dark spots.
If you like results ASAP, the Shine Advanced Skin Membership might be your new best friend. This 3-month treatment programme helps tighten and brighten your face after a few sessions.
Or if you’re struggling with acne, the Shine Acne Skin Bootcamp is for you. It includes an initial in-depth skin assessment, followed by needling and other treatments.
In addition to their skin memberships, they offer individual treatments such as Botox, Dysport, and dermal fillers. They also offer some fabulous treatments for your lashes and brows—think Nouveau LVL Lash Lifts and HD BrowSculpt Lamination.
The only complaint we’ve heard so far is that scheduling a last-minute appointment can be a headache because of the lack of availability.

Aesthetics Allure is an advanced appearance medicine clinic known for safe treatments and immediate results.
The Botulinum Toxin A injections have brought immediate results for many. Several have noticed a smoothing of their forehead lines. Plus, the needles are small, so the discomfort is minimal. They also offer a numbing cream if you’re particularly sensitive.
Their mesotherapy also constantly receives praise. It’s basically tiny injections that deliver vitamins directly to the skin—virtually painless. Those we’ve talked to said they gained a brighter complexion and firmer skin after the treatment.
Others raved about the diamond microdermabrasion, saying it polished away all the dullness in their faces, leaving it baby-soft and looking visibly brighter.
For those wanting a lift without going under, the non-surgical face lift and PDO thread lift are go-tos for many.
However, if you’re planning on doing multiple treatments, be warned that the cost adds up quickly.

Narissa Aesthetics seriously has everything from facial sculpting to skin brightening, and even some permanent make-up stuff like eyebrow tattoos.
People love how Narissa’s always on top of the latest tech and techniques. So, if you’re worried about getting outdated treatment, that’s not something you need to stress about here.
Narissa isn’t the only friendly one here, though. All the cosmetic nurses are kind, but don’t shy away from giving honest treatment advice.
Several who’ve tried the anti-wrinkle treatment swear by it. All of them agreed that their skin looked a lot smoother and felt like they knocked off a few years.
Others who tried the cryolipolysis, also known as fat freezing, were sceptical at first, saw real changes after a few sessions.
However, several people mentioned that the wait times can sometimes be longer than expected, especially for popular treatments like facial sculpting.

The technician was very gentle
I had a Rejuran Meso Booster treatment at Lanreé, it was one of the best experiences – the technician was very gentle, provided clear guidance on the treatment and a very thoughtful service. She had been extra gentle with me after knowing the medication I’m taking. I had only mild redness, was able to go out for dinner on the day. If anyone is new to meso treatment and wanna give it a go, I would definitely recommend Lanreé!

Amazing service and care
Visited Lanreé Aesthetics twice in the past, first for the consultation and second for the laser treatment of an ingrown pimple that Lulu extracted out of my face. Just wanted to thank you for the amazing service and care, I have never felt so relieved. It’s been almost 6 weeks, wound healed really fast from the aftercare advice and scar is almost gone. I had an amazing experience at Clinic1 Aesthetics with aesthetician, Layla Wilson. This was my first ever time getting Botox so I was very nervous but Layla made me feel comfortable and relaxed and explained the process thoroughly to me. Layla is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to listen to my concerns before recommending the best treatments for me. The results were amazing! I am in loveeee with her work and I think I looked in the mirror like 10 times a day like slayyyy 😂.
