Installing windows is never as easy as the YouTube DIY guy makes it look. One minute, it’s all “just measure, pop it in and you’re done”—the next, you’re left with a crooked window and a horrible draft coming in.
Auckland’s weather is unpredictable enough without adding accidental ventilation to the mix. That’s why finding a professional window installer is important.
To help avoid DIY disasters (and the need for indoor puffer jackets), we’ve rounded up the best window installers in Auckland. Here’s who made the cut and what sets them apart!
How much does it cost to get windows installed in Auckland?
It costs at least 40 NZD per square meter to install a window in Auckland. This is just an average. The actual price will depend on the type of glass, the size, the company, and more.
1. Window Factory (by Aluminium City)

Address: 170 Station Road, Penrose
Contact Details: +64 9 579 2770
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Friday – 7:30 AM to 4 PM
What really sold Window Factory to us was their use of the First Windows and Doors system from APL—a popular window brand. The window frames are solid enough that you can lean on them without feeling a wobble.
Plus, the thermally broken aluminium they use actually does what it promises. Homeowners told us their power bill didn’t just nudge down after installing the windows; it took a noticeable dip.
Design-wise, we like that Window Factory doesn’t box you in. They hand you the full Dulux powder coat rainbow and let you go wild. We’ve seen everything from deep forest green to matte black, and nobody bats an eye if you ask for a custom finish.
We also find them a solid choice for tricky oversized installs. They can work on massive bifold that open up entire rooms, and can even add skylights to make you forget you’re indoors.
The only real issue? Their custom window orders can sometimes take a few weeks to be completed.
Guys fitting the windows were great!
“We had brand new double glazed windows put in, we had old wooden framed ones. Wow what a difference! Company was fantastic, great service and they were always checking in with us. Great communication. Guys fitting the windows were great! Would definitely recommend them!!”

The windows and ranch slider were installed efficiently
“I highly recommend Alumunium City Window Factory. I was so pleased with my three sets of Bifold windows and ranch slider into my conservatory that I then subsequently ordered two huge chair frame windows. The windows and ranch slider were installed efficiently and earlier than anticipated. It looks amazing. All the staff were professional and courteous. They went the extra mile with additional sealing and fixing catches to other doors for me. Much appreciated.”

2. Warm Windows

Address: 63 Kerwyn Avenue, East Tāmaki
Contact Details: +64 9 265 0341
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 4 PM
- Saturday – 11 AM to 1 PM
Warm Windows specialise in double-glazed, European-style windows made from Aluplast uPVC. Their windows really hold up, so there’s no need to worry about shivering in the lounge or waking up to puddles on the sill.
The frames themselves are solid. A few people we spoke to said they’ve yet to spot a hint of rust or rot.
It’s also impressive how well Warm Windows’ windows age. Several people said their windows still slide and seal like they did on day one, and a quick wipe is all it takes to keep them looking sharp.
Customisation is another big tick. Whether your place is all sharp angles or full of quirky curves, they’ll measure up and make it work.
And the installation crew? They’re very respectful of the client’s space. They don’t leave random scuff marks or mess.
The only catch: Warm Windows isn’t the cheapest option on the block. However, with a 15-year warranty, you’re paying for peace of mind.
So happy with the windows and installation
“So happy with the windows and installation process. The team of two who came to fit 6 windows across 3 bedrooms was exceptional and the product is of very high quality. Communication throughout the process was timely and professional. It’s so refreshing to see tradies who provide great products, exceptional customer service, and timely communication. We are also very happy we no longer have to spend 15mn every morning vacuuming the condensation we had on the old windows…”

Absolutely no regrets
“I used Warm Windows for our 1970s home in Glendowie and absolutely love the quality and service. We had previously used other companies for double glazing but the windows weren’t exactly warm and offered little protection from noise. We went to the Warm Windows Showroom and could see the instant benefit of using European quality for this. Absolutely no regrets other than not having had them done earlier when we first moved into our home. We now have no road traffic noise and it is at least 2 degrees warmer in winter. We had three new doors with extra security lock and 8 new custom built windows. The installers were the hardest working people I have ever come across. They gave up their Saturdays and Sundays to do the installation. Highly recommend. Simon Hepple”

3. NuStyle Aluminium Windows & Doors

Address: 29 Grayson Avenue, Papatoetoe
Contact Details:+64 9 278 4089
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 7 AM to 4 PM
NuStyle Aluminium Windows & Doors is the go-to choice for anyone who wants the entire window-and-door installation process handled by one team, from start to finish.
They sketch out the plans, craft the frames, and send their crew to put everything in place. We really like that there’s no confusion about who’s responsible when something goes wrong because there are no other subcontractors involved.
Their windows also feel well-engineered. They glide open effortlessly, and you won’t catch them rattling when the wind picks up. There’s none of that flimsy aluminium either—they use materials that hold up through seasons.
People who’ve gone with their sliding window doors swear you can open them with barely any effort, and we haven’t heard a single story about bent frames or jammed latches.
When it comes to installation, homeowners like how the team doesn’t mess around. Several people mentioned they are fast and don’t leave any debris lying around.
However, because NuStyle handles everything themselves, you’re working within their system. This means if you want one-of-a-kind designs or exotic finishes, you might find their window customisations a bit lacking.
The install guys were so professional
“Wow first of all the customer service from start to end was incredible and then the install guys were so professional and cleaned as they went.

4. Auckland Aluminium Window Installations

Contact Details:+64 9 813 2259
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:30 AM to 5 PM
If you’re the sort of person who wants your windows actually to match the rest of your house, Auckland Aluminium Window Installations is the crew you’ll want on speed dial.
They have a very impressive attention to detail. From what we’ve seen in their past works, there are no glaringly mismatched frames or obvious patch jobs that can cheapen the look of the house.
Their window frames seem solid and high-quality as well. We heard from multiple people who gave the shop’s sample frames a serious shake test, and they said there were no rattling or hollow-sounding corners.
Even homeowners who got them installed vouch for the windows’ sturdiness. Many said they held up brilliantly during some of Auckland’s rougher weather stretches.
One thing many also appreciated is that the installers stick around to explain how to keep everything looking sharp, even pointing out which cleaning sprays to avoid.
Now, since these guys are in demand, installation dates can be delayed a bit. Also, if you’re dreaming of wild colours and ultra-custom frame shapes, you might find them a bit on the conservative side.
The windows still look new 9 years later
“AAWI supplied and installed our full house lot of double glazed windows 9 years ago, his team were very friendly and respectful. The work was done quickly and to a high standard. The windows still look new 9 years later. We were really pleased with the results. Aron’s ability to resolve issues with the original building structure is what makes him stand out from the rest. Old single glazed windows were removed and new double glazed ones installed within two weeks. Highly recommended. The photos were taken today.”

5. The Sash Window Company Ltd

Address: 128c Ormiston Road, East Tāmaki
Contact Details:+64 22 150 5625
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 5 PM
The Sash Window Company is who to call if you want to upgrade to wooden sash windows and casement windows. Their wooden sash windows are elegant, space-saving, and do wonders for ventilation.
They’re really good at sneaking double glazing into original wooden frames. People love how the new glass keeps the chills out, but the window still looks like it came with the house.
Several people told us the installers were borderline obsessive about matching the old trim and paint, to the point where you’d need a magnifying glass to spot the difference.
One thing a lot of their former customers also love is how the team doesn’t flinch at “just one broken window” requests—they give as much care to a single wonky window as they do to a full-house overhaul.
However, they’re not the place for bargain hunters. You’re paying for a craftsman’s touch and a lot of custom work, so don’t expect budget prices.
But if you care about keeping your home’s soul intact—and maybe stop your teeth chattering in summer—it’s money well spent.
Todd is clearly skilled at his trade
“Todd replaced all my old Villa sash windows (top and bottom) along with multiple sets of french doors, all with new double glazed units.
He was very accommodating in working to a tight time schedule, which also required working in with a number of other trade services on site.
He has a genuine interest in delivering an exceptional outcome and treats the job as if it was his own home – which IMO is all you can really ask.
Todd is clearly skilled at his trade and I can unreservedly recommend his services.”

Did a great job on our windows
“Todd and his team did a great job of our windows. He gave good advice, was easy to deal with and was the lowest priced. Cleaned up well afterwards and did such a good job of the filling the holes I won’t have to paint them. Thanks Todd!”
