The 5 Best Banquet Halls in Auckland You Should Consider

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Venue Versatility: We looked at how adaptable the spaces are for different group sizes and weather conditions.

Standout Features: We identified what makes each location distinct from the competition.

Catering and Services: We evaluated the quality of food options and the helpfulness of the staff, and the inclusions.

Accessibility and Location: We considered how easy it is for guests to get there and park their vehicles.

Value for Money: We weighed the cost against the overall experience, amenities, and exclusivity provided.

Planning a large event is exhilarating, but finding the right venue can quickly turn into a logistical challenge.

Couples planning weddings and professionals organising galas all need a setting that sets the right tone.

Auckland offers a wide range of stunning options, including vineyard escapes and urban sanctuaries, but filtering through them takes time you likely do not have. I have done the heavy lifting to find the spots that deliver on their promises.

Here are my top picks for the best banquet halls in Auckland to make your celebration unforgettable.

How much do banquet halls cost in Auckland?

Budgeting for a venue in this city varies significantly based on your needs. Standard wedding packages often cost between $2,000 for a basic hall hire and $15,000 or more for a premium location. The final price depends heavily on the season and the size of your guest list. For a fully catered corporate dinner at a venue like AUT, you can expect to pay around $75 per head. In contrast, bringing your own catering typically ranges from $30 to $150 per person. Booking off-peak or securing an all-inclusive deal can often save you a fair amount.

Glasshouse Morningside

Address: 18 McDonald Street, Morningside, Auckland
Contact: 09 942 4621
Hours: Contact for booking availability

If you want an outdoor vibe without worrying about Auckland’s unpredictable rain, Glasshouse Morningside is a strong choice.

It functions as an urban oasis, tucked away in the city but feeling distinct thanks to incredible glass walls and a high roof. The natural light creates an unmatched setting for photography.

I love that they do not force a minimum guest count, which allows for intimate gatherings without the group feeling swallowed by a massive hall.

However, you need to warn your guests about the parking situation. There is no on-site parking, so attendees must fight for street spots or grab an Uber.

Still, the trade-off is worth it for that exclusive, lush aesthetic. Being able to bring your own beverages helps budget-conscious hosts significantly.

Pros

  • Beautiful indoor-outdoor flow
  • No minimum guest count
  • BYO beverage option allowed
  • Exclusive venue hire daily

Cons

  • No onsite parking available
  • Street parking is scarce

Customer Reviews

I recently photographed a wedding at Morningside Glasshouse and was really impressed. The natural light, modern design, and lush surroundings made it a beautiful space to work in. Everything flowed smoothly on the day, and the staff were great to deal with. It’s a fantastic venue for couples and photographers alike.

Paige and the Team at the Glasshouse pulled off our incredible Wedding! The planning process was super easy and Paige as always steps ahead. She had everything sorted before we had time to think about it. We were so looked after on our big day and I would highly recommend the GH for any event or wedding!

Markovina Vineyard Estate

Website: https://www.markovina.co.nz/
Address: 84 Old Railway Road, Kumeū
Contact: 09 412 8608
Hours: Mon – Sun: 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Markovina Vineyard Estate is a top contender for all-inclusive wedding venues

The sheer variety they have attracts many couples. With nine different ceremony locations on-site, you are not stuck with just one backdrop.

Family ownership creates a reliable atmosphere, and you can feel that heritage in how smoothly they run operations.

I attended a friend’s wedding here recently, and the transition from the garden ceremony to the reception was flawless. Guests can mingle easily between the indoors and the gardens.

The only real downside is that it functions strictly as an event venue. You cannot visit for lunch on a random weekend to scope it out unless it is a scheduled open day.

Ideally, this spot suits those who want a venue that handles diverse cultural celebrations with ease.

Pros

  • Nine distinct ceremony spots
  • Experienced with cultural weddings
  • Seamless indoor-outdoor flow
  • Family-owned for 55+ years

Cons

  • Not open to the general public
  • Limited viewing availability

Went for a friend’s wedding. The grounds are spectacular, the venue itself is just wow. Simply blown away with how amazing it all is. The food, the service literally everything is a 12/10.

Due Drop Events Centre

Website: https://www.duedropeventscentre.org.nz/
Address: 770 Great South Road, Wiri, Manukau
Contact: 09 976 7777
Hours: Mon – Sun: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Due Drop Events Centre is one of the go-to options when you need serious space and logistical power. The venue features the country’s largest single flat floor.

As a result, if you are hosting a massive corporate conference or a huge cultural festival, you won’t feel cramped.

They’ve held so many different events, such as big occasions like a graduations, conferences, and even more private affairs like weddings. This is why they’re quite an iconic location for many Aucklanders.

Plus, the connection to the Vector Wero Whitewater Park gives you a pretty unique team-building combo you won’t easily find at other Auckland venues.

Just keep in mind that the parking payment system can be a bit annoying. You have to download an app rather than just using a machine, which catches some guests off guard.

Despite that hurdle, the venue’s pillarless design makes it incredibly versatile for grand setups.

Pros

  • Largest single flat floor
  • Over 500 car parks
  • Supports community initiatives
  • Unique whitewater park link

Cons

  • Parking requires an app
  • No Pay and Display machines

Awesome place to have indoor events in Auckland. Diwali festival held here every year, amazing performances, shopping stalls, food stalls. Overall awesome place to hang around for different events.

Would highly recommend if you’re a thrill seeker or adrenaline junkee.

I would definitely not suggest going if you’re even remotely scared of heights.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to go on the rafting but we’ll try next time.

Kauri Bay Clevedon

kauri-bay-clevedon

Website: https://kauribay.co.nz/
Address: 777 Clevedon-Kawakawa Road, Clevedon
Contact: 09 298 7779
Hours: Mon – Sun: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Kauri Bay Clevedon offers a clear example of luxury rural escapism. It sits on a massive 500-acre private estate and offers three distinct venues, called The Lodge, The Quail’s Nest, and The Bunkers.

The views over the Hauraki Gulf are breathtaking and provide a stunning backdrop for any event.

Their focus on chef-led culinary experiences distinguishes them from standard banquet food; the seasonal menus are top-tier.

In addition, corporate groups often use this space because they offer on-site activities like clay bird shooting. However, it might not work for absolutely massive weddings and really big events.

They have a strict cap of 250 guests, so if your family list is endless, this might be a dealbreaker. For those within the limit, though, the exclusivity is hard to beat.

Pros

  • Stunning coastal estate views
  • Three distinct venue options
  • On-site clay bird shooting
  • Chef-led seasonal menus

Cons

  • Strict 250 guest limit
  • Location requires travel

Bracu Estate

bracu-estate

Website: https://bracu.co.nz/
Address: 49 Main Road, Bombay
Contact: 09 236 1030
Hours: Wed – Sat: 12pm-3pm, 5:30pm-9pm; Sun: 12pm-3pm only

Bracu Estate brings a Mediterranean atmosphere right to the Bombay hills. The setting amongst the olive trees creates a romantic vibe that feels entirely removed from city reality.

Their standout feature is the integrated experience. You have award-winning dining, accommodation, and activities all in one place.

I have dined here before, and the seasonal cuisine using estate-grown ingredients is genuinely superb.

Foodies often select this location because they want their event menu to be the highlight.

One specific drawback exists regarding their activity packages. If you’re booking a Beretta at Bracu package, just be aware that some of the set menus don’t include a vegan option by default, so it’s worth double-checking if you’ve got vegan guests.

But for a picturesque wedding or a high-end dinner, the atmosphere is simply magical.

Pros

  • Mediterranean estate setting
  • Award-winning onsite dining
  • Accommodation is available
  • Uses estate-grown ingredients

Cons

  • Limited vegan options for activity packages
  • Limited restaurant hours

I love Bracu! I have utilised this incredible venue for intimate wedding anniversary dinners right through to hiring the Pavillion and a full events team to run (most recently) my businesses 10 Year Anniversary Celebration! Bracu never disappoints. Highly recommend to anyone- for a beautiful dinner out with your spouse, to gorgeous Olive Oil gifts to full on events. Can’t thank the team at Bracu enough!

A great night out, we attended on a night that had a fabulous set menu and it was as delicious as it sounded when we booked to attend. Great service, lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. (Didn’t take many photos but the food was beautifully presented)
