Convenience is another thing Roma Bloom has going for them. They offer same-day delivery for orders, perfect for those last-minute “oops” moments (we’ve all been there!).
However, the cut-off time for same-day delivery (1:30 PM) is a bit strict, especially for those of us who procrastinate. If you’re aiming for a Saturday surprise, the cut-off time is even earlier, at 10:00 AM. So, be sure to factor this in when placing your order.
Surprisingly, delivery was affordable within Auckland CBD at 11 NZD, a welcome surprise considering the usual floral delivery markups.
But we noted delivery charges climb steadily if you live outside of the CBD, with a significant jump in the Greater Auckland area. Expect anything from 16 NZD to 35 NZD to avoid any sticker shock at checkout.

Flowers on the Hilltop has a diverse selection of bouquets in their online shop that’s sorted by occasion. But we noted that you can’t completely customise the bouquets online. (We had to call their shop to do so.)
Pricewise, their bouquets lean towards the higher-end price range. But they do have a payment option available, which we must admit is a nice touch.
Another thing that’s worth mentioning is their international delivery. This is a lifesaver for those of you who have a special someone overseas.
But for those of you who need local Auckland deliveries, don’t miss the cut-off times (3:30 PM for local, 1:30 PM for Greater Auckland, and 4 PM on Saturdays). Doing so can result in a next-day delivery, which might not be ideal for last-minute gifting.
Now let’s talk about their flowers. The bouquet we received wasn’t just pretty—it was gorgeous. It was clear these weren’t flowers that had spent days languishing in a refrigerated display case.
This is clearly one of the top options when you want the real deal—premium fresh flowers that won’t let you down in terms of impressions.

The Wild Bunch has beautiful blooms to brighten anyone’s day. Navigating their website is a breeze. It’s clean and user-friendly, with clear categories for browsing by occasion, recipient, or colour.
The florist choice collection is perfect for those who want a surprise arrangement but trust the experts’ taste. However, we think the website could benefit from a build-your-own option, allowing for more customisation.
We also thought that the same-day delivery option was a huge plus, especially for last-minute gifting needs.
For same-day delivery, we had to order by 1:30 PM. But if you’re in the outer suburbs, put your order in by 10:30 AM. We noted they do Saturday deliveries too, but you have to wake up bright and early to get those in by 9:30 AM.
While the entire delivery went smoothly, we think it would be better if they offered a way to track the delivery progress online. A simple notification system would add a layer of convenience and peace of mind.
And when the flowers arrived (we got the posy jewel-tone florist choice), the presentation was fantastic. The arrangement lasted for days, filling our office with a splash of colour and a pleasant fragrance.
