One Christmas, I decided to make my own gift basket for relatives. Armed with cellophane, ribbons, and an overly ambitious Pinterest board, I believed it would be easy.
Three hours later, I was tangled in more ribbon than a maypole. Worse? My ‘artisan’ sweets were a sad mix of broken biscuits and melting chocolates and the ‘tastefully arranged’ wine bottle looked like it had crash-landed.
Some people have a gift for it, but clearly, I’m not one of those people. So if you’re like me and don’t have the crafty hands to make luxurious gift baskets, I got you.
I had some help from the rest of the Auckland Magazine team in getting the down low on the best gift basket shops in Auckland. After speaking with customers and ordering some for ourselves, here are the ones you can trust to deliver gifts that’ll make your loved ones smile.
How much does it cost to get a gift basket in Auckland? Getting a gift basket in Auckland costs at least 50 NZD. This price is just an estimate and the final cost will vary depending on the gift basket you get. |

They have the option to make up your own basket
I have used About Giving twice and found them easy to use and well priced. I like that they have the option to make up your own basket, allowing you to personalize it more. Free delivery all over NZ is another bonus.

We were so happy with the gifts
I live in Aussie and got a lovely gift basket sent to my father in law in the north Island. Wow they loved it!!!!
They sent a photo and we were so happy with the gifts. Its so easy to order and to our surprise it got to them the next day. So much easier than sending gift to NZ as it takes nearly 6 weeks sometimes. This is the second order we have done with fly flowers and so happy. I will differently be doing it again. 😊

Absolutely amazing service and customer care
Absolutely an amazing service and customer care. I ordered a basket gift for my distanced love one and it was during Typhoon time, so I really doubt whether the delivery can be done on Valentine’s Day, but it got there sharp on time. Thanks Batenburgs team for everything you did, and I truly appreciate your help.

I really liked the selection of items
Thank you “The Good Box Gift Co.” for delivering a beautiful birthday gift to my mother. She was gushing with praise for the box itself that her goodies arrived in. I really liked the selection of items available. I was able to find plenty of items for my mother who can’t tolerate gluten.
Cheers!

Tori provided excellent customer service
Our daughter is attending teachers college in Auckland, New Zealand and we live over 13, OOO kms away in southern Canada. With her birthday being just around the corner, we did not want to e-transfer her money for her birthday and wondered if there would be a food basket company that we could order gluten free foods from to send to her, based on her medical food constraints. We were so pleased to find Gourmet Gifts in Auckland, and Tori (the Director) was quick to reply to my email asking if the gourmet basket and cider wine would make it to our daughter on her birthday. Tori even let me know that she was on her way to make the delivery, which was very considerate of her. Tori provided excellent customer service and our daughter was pleasantly surprised with her basket of food and beverage treats!
