That got us searching for the best tilers in Auckland. We talked to other homeowners, looked at forums, and even reached out to some tilers to understand what they each bring to the table.
After much research, we were finally able to narrow it down to our top picks. And since we figured we’re not the only ones wanting an upgrade, we’re sharing our list with you here!

Ramon Dings Tiling Ltd is led by Ramon, who has worked for two reputable Kiwi tiling companies in New Zealand before establishing his own company. He also has several years of experience, giving us confidence in his skills.
What we like about his service is that he caters to residential and commercial properties. Plus, he offers both indoor and outdoor tiling, so you can get the entire property done by him.
We’ve looked at his portfolio too and found his previous projects clean-looking and exceptional. One project we particularly liked was a tiled kitchen splashback because of the beautiful hexagonal design.
A client also praised Ramon for tiling her wall in the laundry, sharing that he was very reliable and did a great job of cleaning up.
One more thing we appreciate about this guy is that he also offers tile maintenance, tile repair, and reinstatement services. This means we can just contact him right away if we need some repairs. We’re here for convenience, of course.
One thing to note is that he’s very limited and selective about clients, especially those who are too far from his place. One client from Tokoroa said that Ramon wasn’t able to continue the service because of the distance.

JB Tiling West has 25 years of strong experience in tiling homes and businesses in West Auckland.
One of the first things we liked about them is their free measure and quote. Renovations require a lot of budgeting, so these services help a lot.
In terms of their service range, we’re pretty satisfied. They cover the essentials, like interior, bathroom, and exterior tiling. We were also surprised to find out that they also install rubber gym matting, which we don’t see often.
We also appreciate the team’s transparency when it comes to the tiling work they don’t offer. For instance, they don’t do grout cleaning, tile replacement, or tile cleaning. To be honest, we’re a bit sad about them not doing tile replacement.
Also, we’re a bit disappointed that they offer herringbone tiling as part of their standard service. They can do it, but only at a premium price.
On the bright side, they do a great job at what they offer. A client loved the tiling work that the team had done during her bathroom renovation. She praised them for giving her a prompt quote and advice regarding the 400 x 400 tiles needed for the bathroom.
Another client from Huia commended the team for doing a brilliant job on tiling his kitchen. He also noted that the service is affordable compared to the quotes he got from other companies.

What really makes Ray Tiling stand out for us is their 10-year workmanship warranty. Tiling can be a significant investment, so having that kind of warranty gives us the peace of mind that our money won’t just be wasted.
On top of that, they have over 15 years of experience, so we’re quite confident in their knowledge and skills.
In terms of services, we found their jack tiling service unique. They use the Nurajack pedestal system for outdoor tile installation, which avoids the use of grout and adhesives.
This method helps create an even surface and reduces water buildup, so we find it a great option for those who want to tile outdoor areas where drainage is important.
They also take on challenging and small tasks like removing and repairing a portion of a bathroom. A client praised Ray Tiling for repairing their bathroom wall with no evidence of access on the wall cavity.
That said, their services are a bit more expensive compared to others. The quote also doesn’t contain an itemised breakdown, so it’s hard for some homeowners to assess the overall value.

One thing that we really appreciate is that they have public liability insurance, which gives us peace of mind throughout the project.
We also like that, aside from installation, they do tile repairs. A client thanked Arlo from Cozy Tiling for fixing his scratched tiles brought by another tradesman. Another client is also happy after Arlo fixed their 12-year-old shower and gave it new grout.
Their portfolio shows clear expertise in kitchens and bathrooms, and they’ve also done a couple of tiling projects on fireplaces. But what we really love is their backsplash work— it’s consistently clean, polished, and visually sharp.
We also heard that Arlo and his team maintained open communication. Whether it’s answering questions promptly or discussing material options, the team kept clients on the loop.
One client even shared that the team worked with her to find non-toxic alternatives to usual tile glues.
We just didn’t like that you need to pay 50% upfront to secure your booking with them. While downpayments are common in the industry, we find 50% a bit too high.

Cutting Edge Tiling is a cut above the rest with a strong workforce ready for tile work. First thing we like is that they have more than 10 experienced tilers, which means efficiency and more availability for new clients.
Another thing we love about this company is that they have a tile partner. You can pick from a range of on-trend and budget-friendly tiles. They have a tile design specialist whom you can talk to for a (complimentary) 30-minute consultation.
Have the budget and want unique and personalised tiles? Their tile partner can also do that for you with their custom tile design service. However, expect it to be costly and might take some time since it’s an additional service.
We also did some digging on their past projects. Their team completed a couple of bathroom renovations, a kitchen backsplash, and garage tiling. They also did apartment and patio tiling, so they’ve pretty much done everything you’ll need for a house.
Many of the clients we talked to are generally pleased with the quality of Cutting Edge’s work and the variety of services offered. However, there are a few limitations that we think are worth mentioning.
The team doesn’t do tile maintenance or repair services, which could be a dealbreaker for those who want ongoing support after installation.
