So, the other day, my aunt told me she wanted to deload from her busy social life (yep, her words) and find a chill spot in a retirement village. Knowing her, she’s probably looking for a place where she can finally perfect her knitting.
That got me thinking—choosing the right one is a bit like picking which sweet treat to get from the bakery. There are many good options, but you’ve only got one space in your dessert stomach!
So, I’ve compiled a list of Auckland’s best retirement villages. These places are perfect for relaxing, making new friends, and maybe even joining my aunt’s knitting-margarita club.
How much is the cost of living in a retirement village in Auckland? In Auckland, the cost of living in a retirement village typically ranges from $500 to $1000 per week. This generally covers amenities like communal facilities, grounds maintenance, and sometimes limited healthcare services. |

We’re confident that the level of care here is top-notch, too! They offer everything from support packages to rest home care, hospital care, and even short-term and respite care.

Beautiful setting and friendly staff
“Visitor parking limited on some days. No where for residents that live in the apartments to wash their cars(that I’m aware of) loverly setting, grand entrance, lot of things for residents to do and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful grounds and walking tracks by the sea and of course the historical Clark house is a must see 😀”

Ranfurly Village is pretty much the retirement spot everyone’s buzzing about in Auckland.
First off, every room here comes with a 24-hour emergency call system, which is supported by modern monitoring and alarm systems. This really gave us peace of mind, knowing that safety is prioritized.
When it comes to care support, we were stoked to find out they offer physiotherapy, podiatry, and health monitoring. Just note that these services are all available by appointment.
