5 Best Prenatal Massages in Auckland for Pregnancy Relief

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Therapist Qualifications: We favoured therapists with specific prenatal massage training. Pregnancy isn’t the time for guesswork.

Pregnancy Safety: We checked for side-lying positions, supportive pillows, and clear pregnancy-safe practices. Comfort should come built in.

Customised Care: We looked for therapists who tailor sessions to changing aches and tension. One-size-fits-all massage doesn’t quite cut it here.

Environment and Access: A calm space matters when you’re already carrying extra weight. Convenient locations and flexible bookings earned extra points.

When my pregnant sister started collecting aches like they were part of the baby registry, she asked her trusted midwives whether prenatal massage was worth trying. Their advice gave her the confidence to look for something gentle and pregnancy-aware.

That sent us hunting for the best prenatal massage in Auckland, because a regular spa rubdown wasn’t going to cut it. We wanted therapists who understood safe positioning, changing bodies, and how to keep things genuinely comfortable.

Whether you’re dealing with a cranky lower back, swollen feet, or nights that feel far too long, the right massage can make a lovely difference. This guide rounds up Auckland spots that put mums-to-be and their comfort first.

How much does a prenatal massage cost in Auckland?

Prenatal massage in Auckland generally costs $60 to over $250 NZD per session. Prices depend on the session length and whether you visit a clinic or book an in-home therapist.

A short 30-minute session for targeted relief usually costs $65 to $75. A standard 60-minute full-body massage typically ranges from $90 to $175.

Longer 90-minute sessions cost around $130 to $250+. Mobile prenatal massage is usually pricier, at roughly $199 to $249, since the therapist travels to you.

1. Bella Mama Pregnancy Spa and Wellness Centre – North Shore, Auckland

Website

Address: 131 Birkenhead Ave, Birkenhead

Contact: 09 445 7591

Hours: Reception Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 9 AM – 4:30 PM | Sunday, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM | Appointments Available: Tuesday-Sunday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM

If I were treating my pregnant sister to some proper pampering, Bella Mama would be high on my list. It specialises in pregnancy and postnatal massage, so there’s none of that generic spa guesswork.

Therapists are specially trained in pregnancy massage and use supportive cushions with side-lying positions.

Some treatments may even include gentle stretches or comfort tips for the days when your back decides it’s had enough.

Bella Mama says it has treated clients as late as 42 weeks, which is handy when baby clearly isn’t checking the calendar.

Pregnancy-focused balms and oils add a suitably indulgent finishing touch.

There are a few small catches, though. Medicated oils can stain clothes, standard gift vouchers last three months, and popular appointment slots may require booking a couple of weeks ahead.

Pros

  • Specialises in pregnancy and postnatal massage
  • Therapists have pregnancy-specific training
  • Uses supportive cushions and side-lying positions
  • Some treatments include gentle stretches and comfort advice
  • Can accommodate clients late into pregnancy

Cons

  •
  • Standard gift vouchers expire after three months
  • Popular slots may need booking a couple of weeks ahead

Amazing Prenatal Massage at Bella Mama

I was given a gift voucher for Bella Mama and had the most amazing prenatal massage. The staff at Bella Mama were so friendly, caring and thorough in their treatment. I came away feeling so relaxed, and it was just what I needed.

Relief for Sciatica Pain and Body Aches

I absolutely love the service Bella Mama provides as it helps with my sciatica pain. Been using their service since my first pregnancy and am currently on my second. The prenatal and postnatal massage has helped me tremendously with my body aches. Staff are lovely and professional. I highly recommend.

2. We Bliss You Massage Boutique Remuera

Website

Address: 2a Upland Road, Remuera

Contact: 09 39 079 53 | [email protected]

Hours: Tuesday-Thursday, noon – 7 PM | Friday-Sunday, 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM

For mums-to-be wanting something polished but not painfully clinical, We Bliss You would be an easy one to shortlist.

The Remuera boutique leans into a calm, pampering feel while still tailoring treatments around individual areas of tension.

Their team includes therapists with international spa experience, and pregnancy massage is offered during the second and third trimesters.

Aromatherapy and a soothing setting give the whole session more of a proper escape than a quick in-and-out treatment.

We like that the massage can be adjusted around changing comfort needs rather than sticking to a rigid routine. That makes it a good fit if your back, hips, or shoulders are doing most of the complaining.

The main catch is flexibility. Pregnancy massage is limited to 60 minutes and offered only up to 37 weeks, so shorter, longer, or very late-pregnancy bookings aren’t available.

Pros

  • Tailors pregnancy massage around individual tension and comfort needs
  • Team includes therapists with international spa experience
  •
  • Suitable during the second and third trimesters

Cons

  •
  • Not available beyond 37 weeks

Wonderful Experience at We Bliss You Remuera

I had the most wonderful experience at We Bliss You Remuera.  The premises were incredibly clean, tastefully decorated and had a relaxing atmosphere that made me feel like I was on holiday. Libra, the amazing masseuse, gave me an absolutely perfect pregnancy massage. I felt so cared for and safe in the space, and she ensured the pressure was just right throughout. The ginger tea after the massage was the perfect touch, leaving me feeling completely relaxed and blissful. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a calming and rejuvenating experience.

Relaxing Atmosphere and Great Pregnancy Massage

My experience at We Bliss You Remuera was wonderful. As soon as I entered the place, I felt relaxed as it had a calm ambience and was very clean. I had an amazing pregnancy massage from Maneerat. All throughout the massage, I felt so calm and relaxed, and it made me want to have a peaceful sleep. She also made sure that the leg pain I was having was relieved. It was also lovely to have the ginger tea after the massage. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back more times throughout my pregnancy.

3. Pim Wellness & Spa

Address: Unit 3, 29 Surrey Crescent, Grey Lynn

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Daily, 9 AM – 8:15 PM

Pregnancy has a funny way of making 75 minutes of lying down sound wildly luxurious. That’s exactly where Pim Wellness & Spa comes in, with longer full-body sessions designed around changing comfort needs.

The team includes therapists with years of massage experience in Thai hospital and spa settings.

Sessions come in 75-, 90-, and 120-minute options, so this is more slow-and-steady than rushed and clock-watching.

We like that they’re open seven days a week until the evening, which makes booking around work or appointments much easier. The oil-based treatment keeps things firmly in relaxation territory rather than feeling overly clinical.

The catches are pretty specific. Pregnancy massage starts from 18 weeks, the shortest option is 75 minutes, and there’s no reception desk for phone bookings.

Pros

  • Full-body pregnancy massage tailored to changing comfort needs
  • 75-, 90-, and 120-minute session options
  •
  • Open seven days a week until the evening

Cons

  • Pregnancy massage is only available from 18 weeks
  •
  • No reception desk for phone bookings

Absolute Heaven with Pim

I had a pregnancy massage with Pim, and it was absolute heaven! She knew exactly what areas to focus on to relieve those dreaded pregnancy aches and pains, and it was an overall super relaxing experience. I felt incredibly relaxed for hours after! Would definitely book again.

Best 1-Hour Package at 36 Weeks

I am 36 weeks pregnant, and I got a pregnancy massage from Rose & it was the best thing. I got the 1hr package, and it felt not rushed at all and felt more like 2 hours, but that’s how good it was. The added oil and hot towel were just a beautiful addition.  I am grateful for the service and will definitely come back.

4. iGlow Spa

Website

Address: Unit 4, 19c Ronwood Ave, Manukau

Contact: 09 262 0761 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday, 11 AM – 5 PM | Tuesday-Sunday, 10 AM – 6 PM

By the time pregnancy makes your back feel like it’s carrying two babies, a quiet massage room starts sounding pretty heavenly. iGlow Spa leans into that escape with a calm, adults-only setting and a pregnancy massage designed for gentle relief.

The 50-minute treatment uses light pressure, flowing strokes, warm Pure Fiji oil, and side-lying support with a body pillow.

It’s available after the first trimester and focuses on common niggles like back tension, swelling, and fatigue.

We like that the spa has been around for more than 12 years, which gives the whole experience a reassuringly established feel.

The no-children policy keeps things peaceful too, which is lovely when silence feels like a luxury.

The trade-offs are fairly practical here. iGlow doesn’t offer remedial massage, and bookings require a 30% non-refundable deposit.

Pros

  • Pregnancy massage available after the first trimester
  • Uses gentle pressure and side-lying body-pillow support
  •
  • Adults-only setting keeps the atmosphere quiet
  • Spa has been operating for more than 12 years

Cons

  •
  • Requires a 30% non-refundable deposit

Comfortable and Relaxing Hip Pain Relief

I had Mumta for my pregnancy massage, and she made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. The massage I really needed. I’m 39 weeks and needed something to relax me and relieve my hip and lower back pain. She made sure the strength was comfortable enough for me. I definitely recommend it! Will definitely come again.

Best Experience Ever with Sheena

My husband booked me in for a pregnancy massage. It was hands down the best experience ever. I was looked after by Sheena, who I highly recommend to all pregnant women. She was gentle & very accommodating to my pregnant body. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire massage. She made me feel well looked after & used the best body oil & body mist.

5. Drift Away Massage Therapy

drift-away-massage-therapy-logo

Website

Address: Sale Street, Cockle Bay, Howick

Contact: 021 049 7724 | [email protected]

Hours: In-studio hours (by appointment only): Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 6 PM | Weekends & late nights by arrangement

Drift Away would appeal to those who find getting across Auckland an event in itself. They offer a choice between a Howick studio visit and an at-home pregnancy massage, making things much easier on tired days.

What we like most is that the service feels genuinely pregnancy-focused rather than simply adapted from a regular massage. Supported side-lying or semi-reclined positions are used, and the practitioner is trained as a pregnancy, birth, and postnatal doula.

We’d especially rate the option for partners to learn simple massage techniques for labour. It turns the appointment into something useful beyond that one blissful hour on the table.

The catches are mostly about planning ahead.

Studio sessions are appointment-only, and late cancellations can mean fees unless labour or a recent birth throws the schedule out the window.

Pros

  • Offers both in-studio and mobile pregnancy massage
  • Uses supported side-lying or semi-reclined positioning
  •
  •
  • Mobile option is handy for later pregnancy

Cons

  •
  • Late cancellations may incur fees
  • Weekend and late-night slots are by arrangement

Welcoming Experience with Moira

I had the best experience with Moira at 29 weeks pregnant. She made me feel welcome from the minute I stepped inside, explained everything she was going to do and made sure I was comfortable the whole massage. I would highly recommend her to anyone suffering from sore hips and joints during pregnancy. I feel so relaxed and will definitely be booking again.

Incredible Massage and Knowledgeable Support

Moira is just beautiful – inside and out! Apart from receiving an incredible pregnancy massage, she has a wealth of knowledge and has helped me with my upcoming birth – tips, support and guidance. She has an infectious personality, so it’s no wonder she’s so highly recommended. Thanks, Moira ❤️
