My living room floor has seen better days, and the rug can only hide so much. I’m ready to give the whole space a proper refresh with expert flooring services.
That sent me looking for the best epoxy flooring in Auckland. A smooth, easy-to-clean finish sounds much better than another attempt to distract guests with cushions.
I’ve rounded up local crews that tackle surface prep as carefully as the final coat. They can help with everything from living rooms to garages and busy workshops.
How much does epoxy flooring cost in Auckland?
Professional epoxy flooring generally costs NZ$50–$180+ per m².
Basic solid-colour epoxy costs around NZ$50–$80 per m². Decorative flake or metallic finishes cost NZ$80–$150 per m².
Industrial or commercial-grade flooring costs NZ$100–$180+ per m².
A standard 30–40 m² double garage typically costs NZ$2,400–$5,200. Concrete repairs and your chosen finish can affect the final price.
A DIY water-based paint kit costs about NZ$200–$400 in total.
1. Epoxy Flooring Ltd

Address: 73E Morrin Road, St Johns
Contact: [email protected] | +64284033020
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7 AM – 5 PM | Saturday, 7 AM – 1 PM
My garage floor has seen better days, so Epoxy Flooring Ltd’s attention to preparation caught my eye. This Auckland family business handles home garages and industrial projects across New Zealand.
Its 7,500 m² industrial refurbishment included epoxy coating on 5,500 m², with the rest treated for dust control. For garages, the crew diamond-grinds the concrete, repairs defects and checks whether a moisture barrier is needed.
I’d have fun choosing between textured Supaflake and smooth Supacoat, especially with several colours and finishes available.
The industrial side has muscle too: the company says its epoxy mortar bulk fill cures to over 60 MPa, while one MMA-coated wash bay was ready for use as little as two hours after completion.
The weekend hours are less flexible, though. They close on Sundays and finish at 1 PM on Saturdays, so weekend enquiries need a little planning.

Four-Car Garage Floor Transformation
Absolutely stunning job done by Epoxy Flooring Ltd! I’m very pleased that I’ve chosen Tim’s team to do my 4 car garage epoxy floor job. The job has been finished in top quality and it’s exceeding my expectations. The team is very professional and hard-working. I’m very thankful for the suggestion of using Epoxy floor in my garage; it’s easy to clean, has no damp smell, and most importantly, it looks neat.

2. Floor Masters Ltd

Address: 12 Neilpark Drive, East Tāmaki (by appointment only)
Contact: 0800 733 566 | 021737673
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Floor Masters Ltd caught my attention because it’s been working on concrete floors since 1999 and takes preparation seriously. That kind of experience is useful when you want the job done properly rather than just getting a new finish put down.
The team grinds or shot-blasts concrete before leveling it and can also test a slab for hidden moisture. If damp is a problem, they can add a moisture barrier before the floor gets its new finish.
There’s plenty to consider if you want your garage to look sharper without forgetting what it’s for. Floor Masters installs epoxy, while its popular garage coatings also include polyaspartic options such as decorative Sparta-Flake.
The catch is the potential minimum charge on smaller coating jobs. It may start from NZ$3,500 plus GST, depending on the system and work needed, so even a modest garage isn’t necessarily a modest bill.

3. Seab Painting Auckland

Address: 58 Elizabeth Knox Place, St Johns (serving Greater Auckland)
Contact: 0800 888 616 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 5 PM
Seab Painting Auckland made my list for its thorough preparation and a team with over 80 years of combined painting experience.
The crew grinds and profiles concrete, removes old sealers where needed, and checks moisture and traffic before recommending a coating. They work with Rust-Oleum, Mapei and Equus systems for garages, commercial spaces and industrial floors.
I like having choices beyond a plain, shiny slab, including slip-resistant and decorative finishes.
On top of that, Seab offers free quotes with a stated same-day or next-day turnaround, which could get floor plans moving before you reconsider the colour again.
The snag is its weekday-only opening hours. If you’re busy from Monday to Friday, fitting in an enquiry or site visit may take some planning.

4. Kiwi Specialist Coatings

Service Area: Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga
Contact: [email protected] | 02 2584 9770
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 8 AM – 6 PM
Kiwi Specialist Coatings handles those spaces as well as garages, patios, and commercial kitchens. They’re a solid option if you’re looking to improve a floor without being limited to one type of space.
The Hamilton-based team serves Auckland and diamond-grinds concrete before filling cracks and applying its epoxy system. I think that preparation is important because it gives the coating a proper surface to go onto.
Optional decorative flakes add texture and grip, which could be handy where wet shoes tend to wander. It’s a simple extra, but I can see how it would be useful in areas that regularly get wet.
I like the five-year warranty it offers on residential and commercial work. The catch is that the warranty is shorter than the 10-plus-year lifespan the company says its floors can achieve.

5. EC Flooring Contractors Limited

Area served: All Auckland regions
Contact: 0800 925 385 | 021 925 385 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM
EC Flooring Contractors has worked across Auckland since 2001, using Bondlast, Sika, and Mapei systems. That long track record gives me some confidence, especially if you want a contractor with experience across different types of flooring projects.
Its Bondlast approval gives the team access to technical support. Meanwhile, its residential range covers garages, utility rooms, and living spaces.
They also handle concrete grinding, repairs, and decorative flake finishes, so there’s plenty to consider before picking a colour or finish.
The team also handles demanding spaces such as warehouses and commercial kitchens, as well as home floors.
For larger projects, its SiteWise Green status and stated NZ$10 million public liability cover are useful details to have in mind.
The catch is that commercial and industrial flooring remains its primary focus, despite its extensive residential experience. If you want a contractor devoted solely to home projects, I’d recommend you keep looking.

I have had the pleasure of EC Floorings great service & exceptional work on numerous occasions at 2 different workplaces over the past 10 years – both within the food industry. Meticulous Preparation and Results
All I can say are great things about this company and its workers. Some are basic, like they are on time, polite, and hard-working. Others are their dedication to the job, meticulous working methods, and their positive can-do attitude. I’m delighted with the results of their work and preparation to achieve it. Ann, in the office, supplied me with all the technical information I needed. I recommend this company without hesitation.
