The 5 Best Dry Clean Centres in Auckland for Crisp, Fresh Clothes

dry-clean-centres-in-auckland
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Garment care: I looked for cleaners that can handle everyday shirts, tailored suits, and delicate details without leaving a mark.

Price and value: I compared garment and linen prices, plus any deals that make regular visits easier on the wallet.

Speed and convenience: I checked hours, express turnaround, and collection options. A cleaner should work around your week, not run it.

Specialist services: I looked for bridal, leather, and gentler cleaning options for pieces that need extra care.

My suits are custom-made by great local tailors, so I’m fussy about who gets near them with a steamer. A sharp fit deserves better than a mystery crease.

The same goes for business shirts, delicate silks, and the wool coat I drag out every winter. Different fabrics need different care, and I’d rather ask about it before handing anything over.

I’ve rounded up several contenders for the best dry clean in Auckland, from everyday pressing to special occasion care. Here’s where I’d take my wardrobe when it needs to look as good as it fits.

How much does a dry clean cost in Auckland?

A business shirt costs around $6.50–$13 to clean. Trousers and skirts typically cost $16–$26, while jackets and blazers cost $18–$29.50.

A two-piece suit costs about $34–$54.80. Standard dresses run $18–$34.50, while formal or evening gowns start at $40 and can exceed $65.

For larger items, a full-length coat costs $35–$44. Duvets range from $34.50–$76.50, and blankets or bedspreads cost $17–$50.

Website

Address: 1 B Queen Mary Avenue, Epsom

Contact: 09 630 7505 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM | Friday, 7:30 AM – 5 PM | Saturday, 8:30 AM – 4 PM | Sunday, 10:30 AM – 2 PM

Green Box Dry Cleaners is a handy Epsom stop when your favourite suit needs more than a quick once-over.

The family’s fabric-care roots stretch back to Fiji in 1952, though the Auckland shop is a newer chapter.

It handles everyday dry cleaning as well as wedding gowns and embellished saris. That’s reassuring if you’ve got a garment with beads or embroidery you’d hesitate to hand over at the counter.

Green Box offers deodorising and sanitising treatments using Renzacci-USA equipment for hard-to-clean items.

Its Sunday hours are useful when your weekday diary is as tightly packed as your wardrobe.

Same-day service is available, but you’ll need to confirm drop-off and collection times with the shop. If you’re dressing for an event tonight, call before you set off with the garment.

Pros

  • Cleans suits, wedding gowns, and embellished saris
  • Offers deodorising and sanitising treatments

  • Same-day service may be available by arrangement

Cons

  • Same-day drop-off and collection times need confirming in advance

Wedding Dress and Suit Cleaning

The place was nice and clean. We had our wedding dress and three piece suite dry-cleaned here. The service was great, and everything is done personally by the owner and wife. Items came back like new!! The pricing is also good, as they look at the material and level of dirt instead of one price fits all for the dresses.

Trusted Care for Delicate Garments

Suman at Green Box has been doing our dry cleaning for years. Silk shirts, leather pants, detailed blazers, etc. He’s got an extraordinary memory (for when I inevitably forget my tickets), and nothing is ever a problem. He always does an excellent job. Very nice man too.

2. Regal Drycleaners Newmarket

Website

Address: 402 Broadway, Newmarket

Contact: [email protected] | 09 520 6040

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7 AM – 6:30 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM | Sunday, 10 AM – 4 PM

Regal Drycleaners in Newmarket is a strong contender when your best jacket needs more care than a once-over with a lint roller.

Its Couture Care service gives silk, beadwork, and designer pieces extra attention, including careful pressing and quality checks.

Regal uses PERC-free cleaning with biodegradable components. It cleans leather and suede jackets too, and its Newmarket shop is open on Sundays if your weekday diary is bursting at the seams.

The company calls itself an official dry cleaner of New Zealand Fashion Week. That’s a notable connection, though it’s still good to judge the service by how well it handles your own garments.

The catch is the bill: qualifying delicate or luxury pieces incur a $12 Couture Care surcharge. If you need a quick turnaround, next-day service adds 20%, while same-day service adds 30%.

Pros

  • Couture Care for silk, beadwork, and designer garments
  • PERC-free cleaning using biodegradable components
  • Cleans leather and suede jackets
  • Newmarket branch opens on Sundays

Cons

  • $12 Couture Care surcharge for delicate and luxury garments
  • Next-day service costs 20% extra

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10 AM – 6 PM | Saturday, 11 AM – 3 PM

Ironman West Dry Cleaners & Laundry is a handy Mt Roskill option when your suits need a refresh, and your budget needs a breather. A two-piece suit costs $32, while trousers cost $16 at the listed rates.

Keep an eye on its limited-time offers, which currently include two suits for $50 or five pairs of trousers for $50.

The shop lists cleaning for sheepskins, wool duvets, and evening dresses too, so your wardrobe isn’t its only job.

If you’re bringing in a regular pile of laundry, you can ask about a tailored rate for recurring orders. That could make the weekly shirt mountain a little less painful to tackle.

The usual turnaround is two to three days, so it won’t suit every last-minute wardrobe emergency.

Paul, who picked up and dropped off my dry cleaning, was fantastic and friendly. Prices are good, my suits came back pristine, and the booking/delivery service is just so convenient. Highly recommend these guys. Thank you so much, team.

Care for Silk and Delicate Items

I have been using Ironman West for all my dry cleaning for about 6 months now. They provide a consistently great service.  From my silk dresses to my wool duvet inners, it is so helpful to have found a friendly dry cleaner that I can trust with my delicate items.

4. North Shore Drycleaners

Website

Address: 1/8 Inverness Road, Browns Bay

Contact: 09 478 7080 | 0225894887 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 2 PM

North Shore Drycleaners in Browns Bay is a handy stop when your suit needs pressing, and your duvet won’t fit in the washing machine. It handles everyday garments alongside curtains, sleeping bags, and even mascot costumes.

If a wedding gown needs careful attention after the big day, the shop offers cleaning and preservation options. You can choose a bag or box for storage, with acid-free tissue around the gown.

The business’s cleaning process is PERC-free, and it holds Trash Free Taia Otea certification. It encourages customers to bring back hangers and garment bags too, which is one less thing to cram into the cupboard.

Check the extras before dropping off a stained piece: treatment adds $10, while urgent service costs $5 per item.

Weekend orders are also processed on weekdays, so a Saturday drop-off won’t rescue an outfit for Sunday.

  • Says its cleaning process is PERC-free
  • Encourages customers to return hangers and garment bags

Crease Removal on Trousers

Very pleased with the very smart appearance of the trousers I took in to be dry cleaned.  They were very, very creased and had been like that for a long time – I could not get them out.  Now there is no sign of any crease, and I am so happy and relieved about that.  Excellent service – I highly recommend this business.

Suit Trouser Stain Removal

The service here was outstanding. I had to have suit pants dry-cleaned that had a stain I wasn’t sure it would come out; these guys nailed it and got that stubborn stain out. Obviously, they cannot guarantee that they can get stains out, but they got them out, stoked! Highly recommend!

5. Balmoral Laundromat and Dry Clean

balmoral-laundromat-and-dry-clean

Website

Address: 607 Dominion Road, Balmoral

Contact: (09) 6302065 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 6 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 2 PM

Balmoral Drycleaners & Laundry is a practical Dominion Road stop when your suit needs rescuing before the next big meeting.

The business first opened in 1970, and its current price list puts a standard two-piece suit at $35. A business shirt costs $6.50, while five shirts can be pressed for $15 if they’re already clean.

Bringing four or more items for dry cleaning earns a 10% discount, which helps when the laundry pile starts making decisions for you.

It handles ball gowns and bulky household items such as duvets, and optional same-day service is available.

There are drop-off agents in Newmarket and Epsom, though I’d check the timing before counting on a quick return.

Free pick-up and delivery is advertised for central Auckland, so it’s best to confirm the charge if you’re farther out. Small spots are free, but listed stains cost $5 to treat and large, widespread stains cost $10.

Pros

  • 10% off dry cleaning when you bring four or more items
  • Five business shirts pressed for $15
  • Cleans suits, ball gowns, and duvets
  • Offers optional same-day service and drop-off agents

Cons

  • Free pick-up and delivery is advertised only for central Auckland
  • Stain treatment costs $5 for listed stains or $10 for large, widespread stains

Next-Day Ski Jacket Cleaning

Dropped off three ski jackets to get dry cleaned and needed them urgently, and they delivered on time (next day). Even went to the extent of stitching a hole I made in one of them. Overall, really happy with the service and reasonable pricing.

Full-Length Curtain Dry Cleaning

Edward North Shore. I very rarely write reviews, but it doesn’t get better than this. Had all my 12-year-old full-length curtains dry cleaned. They now look new again. Very definitely a price-competitive professional dry cleaning company. Also, I appreciated the helpful and friendly customer service that I was given.
