Going on an adventure in Auckland on your bicycle is a mix of stunning waterfront rides and tough volcanic hills.
Riders hitting the trails at Woodhill and commuters in the Central Business District both rely on dependable mechanics to keep their wheels turning.
We know that trusting someone with your ride is a big deal. That is why we have looked past the glossy window displays to find the workshops that deliver on expertise, value, and customer service.
This guide covers the best bicycle shops in Auckland, helping you find a reliable ones for your cycling needs.
How much does bicycle services cost in Auckland?
Keeping your bike road-worthy in Auckland doesn’t have to break the bank, but prices do vary based on the complexity of the job. If you’re just dealing with a pesky flat tyre on your commute, you can expect to pay around $40 to $50 for a puncture repair, including the tube. For regular maintenance, a standard safety check and gear tune-up generally costs between $120 and $140. However, if you’ve been riding hard in the mud or rain and need a full strip-down service where they degrease everything and check every bearing, you should budget upwards of $250 to $360.
1. Evo Cycles (Britomart)

Website: https://www.evocycles.co.nz/
Address: 88 Quay Street, Auckland Central, Auckland
Contact: 09-308-9549
Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
- Saturday: Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
Evo Cycles in Britomart is arguably one of the most convenient spots for CBD commuters who need a quick fix or a new ride.
What’s interesting about them is the sheer scale of their operation, giving you access to massive inventory and competitive pricing that smaller bike shops struggle to match.
You might start with an entry-level commuter bike and move up to a high-end mountain bike, and they will have exactly the machine you need ready for purchase.
This shows their role as a comprehensive shop for many Aucklanders. The shop has many patrons, so it can get crowded at times.
However, despite the crowd, you can rest assured that the staff is always patient enough to answer your questions thoroughly without making you feel rushed.
That popularity is a double-edged sword, though. Because they are so central and high-volume, the workshop can get backed up, meaning you might wait longer for a service than you’d like.
It can sometimes feel a bit corporate, too, compared to a local owner-operated garage, but the convenience is hard to beat.
Customer Reviews
We had superb customer service with Emmanuel whilst shopping for a bike for Christmas for our son. This was the fourth bike shop we had been to that day and we were feeling overwhelmed. Emmanuel was efficient and informative. He made the process easy & enjoyable. We would definitely go back.

Today I had issues with my pedals. It was impossible for me to remove the pedals after so many years of cycling. The staff was super friendly and did not hesitate to help me unloose my SPDs. He did not even ask me if I bought the bike from them. No questions asked! 2min later the staff return my bike to me job done. He mentioned to me there nothing to worry about. I really appreciate their service.

2. CYCO Bikes

Website: https://cyco.co.nz/
Address: 348 New North Road, Kingsland, Auckland
Contact: 09-376-4447
Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
CYCO Bikes is a premium destination, heavily focused on high-performance road and mountain biking.
They specialise in ‘Project One’ service and professional bike fitting, a meticulous process that ensures your machine is tailored exactly to your body geometry.
Serious road cyclists and those looking for a top-tier Trek or specialised frame will find what they need at CYCO Bikes.
The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable, often spotting mechanical issues that generic shops might miss.
However, this high level of expertise and premium inventory comes with a price tag to match. It is definitely not the cheapest place in town, and the high-end focus might feel slightly intimidating if you just want a cheap, basic bike for short trips.
Customer Reviews
Great people, prompt quality service, competitive pricing, top of the line bikes and gear. Last year I had a retro rusted pos specialized hardtail serviced, was pleasantly suprised with the efficiency and cost of repairs. This year was in need of a road bike, again the service was impeccable, sizing check to order the right frame size, custom fitting, and the gear needed to get pedalling. It rides mint straight out the box and the fit is spot on. Could not be happier with my Trek Emonda. Thank you Darren and the Cyco team.

Super happy with the service and the work! I brought my TT to be serviced after the Ironman 70.3 Worlds and I am super happy with their work. Highly professional and friendly staff. The store itself is also awesome, with high quality gear. Highly recommended!

Hours:

- Saturday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
Benny’s Bike Shop feels like a true community hub rather than just a retail store.
Benny, the owner of the shop, has a deep personal experience with touring and long-distance riding. He treats every bike with immense care, often fixing issues that others would just replace parts for.
The vibe inside the shop is warm and welcoming, filled with cycling history and a genuine passion for the sport.
I remember chatting with a friend who had their touring rig set up here. They mentioned Benny spent an hour just discussing saddle options to prevent numbness.
The downside to this personalised attention is that it’s a small operation with limited hours, especially on weekends, where they close early on Saturday and are shut on Sunday. You definitely need to plan your visit ahead of time.
Customer Reviews
I can’t rate Benny high enough – 5 stars don’t do justice. I’ve known Benny since riding the Tour Aotearoa in 2020 just before COVID hit. Over the years he’s looked after my whole whānau keeping our various bikes going – hardtail MTB, fat bike, gravel bike, road bikes, fixies, Brompton folding bikes… With his kindness, extensive expertise and knowledge he is our go-to person. We trust his advice 110%. I just had a bike fit for my new MTB setting me up for my next bike packing adventure – the GSB. Benny took his time, explained everything beautifully and while he tinkered away I enjoyed absorbing the beautiful atmosphere of his shop. Thank you Benny – you are a true legend. 🙂

Can’t say enough good things about this bike shop and the team that runs it. Benny went above and beyond in helping me and my touring partner deal with the stress of getting my bike through customs (definitely recommend flying with your bike into NZ rather than shipping if it’s possible), making sure our bikes were tour ready for the TA and giving us so so many helpful tips and maintenance demos. These guys are an absolute wealth of knowledge and I feel so lucky we stumbled upon this gem of a bike shop in Auckland!

A Bike Shop in Mt Albert distinguishes itself through its partnership with Wheelworks and a heavy focus on custom, hand-built wheels and bespoke setups. Their work is defined by technical craftsmanship.
This shop is where cyclists go to get a truly unique and personalised bicycle, often built meticulously from the frame up.
Customers here consistently highlight the approachable and down-to-earth nature of the staff. They are very knowledgeable about different kinds of bikes and advise on second-hand builds.
However, the shop maintains an unconventional operating schedule.
Mondays are strictly reserved for appointments only, which can present an inconvenience for customers needing immediate mechanical service after a weekend of riding.
The shop is mainly geared towards enthusiasts who value quality over instant gratification.
Customer Reviews
Very friendly down to earth customer service with lots of knowledge. High quality full bike service by super experienced and lovely staff. Cool shop all round. Took my Cannondale Super Six in for a service and new wheels to be fitted + tubeless set up. It came out riding better than new and looking great too. Andy was able to source hard to find parts quickly and recommend options to suit my riding style and bike.
- Matt Crawford | Google Review
Andy is both kind and knowledgeable. He helped me sort out a bike that needed a bit of work to get road-ready, and was really helpful in advising me when looking for second-hand items. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants quality work done at a very fair price, and a good chat too. Thanks Andy!

5. 99 Bikes (Mount Roskill)

Website: https://www.99bikes.co.nz/
Address: 8 Carr Road, Mount Roskill, Auckland
Contact: 09-625-7029
Hours:
- Monday to Wednesday: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Thursday and Friday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
99 Bikes in Mount Roskill is the “big box” retailer of the Auckland cycling world, offering a massive showroom and a Club 99 membership that gives you significant discounts on bike purchases and services.
With a huge fleet of e-bikes, kids’ bikes, and scooters ready for immediate purchase, the store is well-suited for families or beginners who want to see a wide variety of options in one convenient location.
Staff members here are friendly and helpful, especially with the quick setup of new purchases.
Because 99 Bikes is a large chain, the depth of mechanical knowledge can vary depending on who is working that day. You might not get the same consistency or seasoned expertise you would find at a specialist bike shop.
While the store excels at bike sales, it is not the ideal choice for those seeking complex custom repairs.
Customer Reviews
Absolutely amazing staff! Joshua was extremely helpful and nice. I called before I arrived and my bicycles were ready to go. He helped out with a gst issue and helped me load the bikes into the car. Bikes are awesome, staff very friendly and they have a huge showroom. Biggest I have ever seen. Huge selection of bikes and parts and everyone was very knowledgeable. Thanks to Sebastian from Headoffice as well. Thanks Phil
