In a historic event, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints handed over 4 centuries of digitized records to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). This transfer encompasses 14 million images, ranging from 1614 to 2014, featuring vital documents such as birth, marriage, and death certificates, along with canonical decrees and church inventories.

This initiative seeks to preserve 400 years of Filipino history, offering a rich resource for historians, researchers, and the wider public.

Beyond the historical significance of this initiative, Ordinario highlighted the Mormon belief in the enduring importance of family connections, motivating the preservation of ancestral knowledge.

The CBCP plans to transfer the records to the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Archives. This marks a pivotal moment as it centralizes all Catholic records in the Philippines for the first time.
