Their burgers come with a coeliac bun that’s soft with a bit of crunch – different shape, but still awesome.

Plus, their fries are spot on – crispy outside, soft inside, and perfect with tomato sauce. No worries about gluten sneaking in there either, because the fries are cooked in a separate fryer.

Got kids? There’s a smaller burger just for them, called The Little B. And for you? You have to try the Holey One (beef with mushrooms and Swiss cheese), the Golden Phoenix (honey sriracha fried chicken), and the Guac-Star (beef with guac and corn chips).

While you’re there, be sure to get their milkshakes too! Most of these can also be made gluten-free, including the ever-popular choc fish shake, complete with a tasty chocolate fish and a generous serving of whipped cream.

Cafe Hanoi serves up tasty Vietnamese dishes inspired by street food, and guess what? Most of them can be made safe for those with coeliac disease.

What’s cool is how they manage to keep everything coeliac-safe despite their sharing-style meals.

Additionally, their menu is packed with options that cater to different dietary needs, like gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, and vegan preferences.

While they shine with their authentic Hanoian street food, they also offer some modern twists using the best New Zealand produce.

Just a heads up though: steer clear of the tofu dishes since none of them can be made coeliac-safe. Generally, it’s a good idea to ask which items on the menu can be prepared to be coeliac-safe, if that’s something you need.

Fortunately, you don’t have to miss out on this experience because the entire menu at Tokki can be made gluten-free.

Their menu changes with the seasons, always highlighting the freshest local produce. But you can always expect to see dishes like raw fish such as Prawn and Jang, Fish Cake.

There’s also the popular Tokki Ssam, which is filled with pork galbi and oiji. Additionally, they have crispy eggplant with Korean soya and chili glaze, giving it a unique and flavorful twist (it’s actually a crowd-pleaser here!).

All the food here is crafted by Gochu’s Jason Kim, making Tokki’s Korean cuisine one of the most authentic options in Auckland. Just make sure to reserve a spot through their website, as they don’t accept walk-ins!

From burattini with mandarin oil and cabernet syrup to sirloin steak, they have it all. Though if we have to recommend anything, we do love the fries with truffle sauce, lamb ribs with zaatar, and their mouthwatering plant-based burger.

Also, be sure to explore their cocktail menu for some amazing options. And don’t forget to leave room for dessert – their Basque cheesecake with raspberry sauce and double cream is simply irresistible.

Most of their sushi flavors, like teriyaki chicken and salmon, are gluten-free. Even the soy sauce included in all sushi packs is gluten-free!

But hey, not everything here is Coeliac-friendly. For instance, you can have miso soup, but the inari is off-limits. If you have specific preferences, don’t hesitate to ask them to customize a sushi roll just for you, even if it looks identical to the one already on display.

While they’re not entirely gluten-free, what’s cool is that they’re really affordable. St Pierre’s Sushi packs range from about $6 for a flavor-of-the-day pack to $12 for a jumbo pack.

Plus, they have shops all over Auckland, making it super convenient for a quick and easy meal on the go.

Masu might seem a bit of a mystery at first, but it’s actually perfect for gluten-free Japanese cuisine lovers.

It’s a sharing plate setup, so you might worry about dining with a non-celiac partner. But don’t sweat it – the waiters make sure everyone knows which dishes are gluten-free friendly.

And honestly, the food is so well-prepared that the whole table can order from the gluten-free menu and not even realize it. They even have a gluten-free soy sauce that tastes just like the real deal.

King salmon is a dish not to miss at Masu.  It’s incredibly rich, complemented by pickled cucumber, and cooked to that perfect crumbly consistency that’s hard to replicate at home.

And don’t sleep on their veggies, especially the broccoli – it’s surprisingly delicious!

Now, when it comes to the vibe, you’ll definitely get that cozy Japanese restaurant feel with its clean, natural décor. Atmosphere and taste in one.

Located in Royal Oak, this place defies all expectations – their gluten-free batter stays crispy and delicious, unlike the usual soggy mess. You can grab chips and fish separately or go all out with a full meal, and they’ll make it gluten-free for you.
