STELLAR has delivered exceptional light installations and entertainment each winter over the past four years, and 2019 will be no different.
Kiwi light artist and mastermind behind STELLAR, Angus Muir, says it is one New Zealand's biggest lighting festivals and certainly the most impressive for the range of exhibits and displays.
The after-dark festival is not to be missed with its stunning displays and educational elements which will enlighten the whole family.
"Every year we try to build on past successes from STELLAR, bringing back the crowd favourites while also reinventing interactivity and showcasing the very latest in lighting technology.
Once again, students from Westlake Boys High School, Takapuna Normal Intermediate School and Carmel College will display creations following workshops run by Angus.
"It's satisfying seeing the students' creativity celebrated by the community when their final designs come to life. I love that STELLAR isn't just a festival for the community, it's from the community – what an awesome way to demonstrate the talent of local students who really get stuck into their projects," he says.
For attendees in need of fuel from the journey through sound and light, Goodside's operators will be open to replenish the tank with food and drink options for any taste and budget. The relaxed, leafy venue will also be creatively illuminated so attendees can sit, relax and revel in the glow of STELLAR.
Popular workshops within STELLAR's programme will return for another year, alongside a mesmerising zone of interactive lighting design on the B:HIVE's ground floor.
With appearances from DJs and a silent disco, there will be plenty of entertainment to complement dazzling visual displays which really do need to be seen to be believed.
Free to the public and smack bang in the middle of July school holidays, STELLAR is the ideal family fun event for all ages to enjoy.
