So/ Auckland brings together a new league of amazing chefs and culinary maestros from 30th September to 5th October 2019.
Across the six days the award winning chefs will take diners on a gastronomic journey combining local produce with amazing flavours from across the globe in Harbour Society.
The week culminates with a 12-hand dinner featuring all the chefs and SO/ Auckland’s very own Michelin-starred chef Marc de Passorio.
Marseille - France
MICHEL PORTOS - 2 Michelin Stars
In 1998, Michel founded his first restaurant Côté Théâtre Perpignan. He then became the Chef of Le Saint - James in Boullic and gained the hotel a second Michelin star. Michel was then named “Cuisinier de l’année” in 2012 by the Gault Millau. This same year, he founded his restaurant Le Malthazar followed by Le Poulpe.
Tokyo - Japan
YUSUKE GOTO - 1 Michelin Stars
Executive Chef of Michelin-starred Amour,
Yusuke Goto is a Japanese chef who blends local and French cuisines. Amour was awarded one Michelin star, only 6 months after it opened. Since then, he has continued to maintain this prestigious status.
Marseille - France
JULIEN DIAZ - 1 Michelin Star
Julien heads up the Restaurant Saisons through a shared passion with Guillaume Bonneaud where they blend local cuisine with Mediterranean accents. It is here that he received his one Michelin star.
La-Cadiere D’azur- France
JEAN-FRANÇOIS BÉRARD - 1 Michelin Star
Jean Francois likes to entertain guests with recipes using both local produce and vegetables from his garden, located at the Bastide des Saveurs.
He invites diners around the table to enjoy dishes that showcase the beauty of Provence with strong flavours and fine products.
St Maxime - France
GEOFFREY POËSSON - 1 Michelin Star
Geoffrey heads up his own restaurant on the Côte d’Azur in St Maxime. With a passion for local products, his cuisine has become an identity in the region. In 2009, Geoffrey earned the honored title of “Grand Chef of Tomorrow” by the Gault & Millau guide.
Auckland - New Zealand
MARC DE PASSORIO - 1 Michelin Star
Marc had one goal, to open the first Michelin-starred restaurant in the Indian Ocean and that’s exactly what he did. Achieving that much lauded star not once but multiple times. On a trip in 2012, he fell in love with New Zealand and has now returned to head up Harbour Society’s kitchen.
