Virtual Bauhaus: A Virtual Reality Experience
August 1 @ 9:00 am - August 28 @ 5:00 pm NZST
Explore the Bauhaus school with an interactive VR experience
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, the Goethe-Institute presents Virtual Bauhaus, an exhibition that recreates the German school of design, architecture and applied arts, using the medium of virtual reality.
The iconic school operated in Germany from 1919 to 1933, before it was shut down by the Nazi regime.
In the spirit of the Bauhaus, the exhibition uses innovative technology that allows viewers to experience the essence of the school first-hand.
VR glasses will transport you into the architectural space of the Bauhaus building as it existed in the 1920s - you will be able to explore the school’s central ideas through encounters with its architectural interior, visit the student dormitories, engage with an experimental performance and ascend the building’s famous staircase.
Virtual Bahaus will transport visitors into the exciting space of modern architecture and design.
